Bebo Open Media Platform: Bebo Advertising Standards

These advertising terms and conditions govern how Content Partners can include advertising on or in content you provide on Bebo's Open Media Platform.

  1. Content Partner's Advertisements

    All advertising inventory must be clearly and visually associated within the Media Player and the Content.

  2. Prohibited advertisements

    Content Partner shall not be entitled to display any advertisements on the Platform that include reference to, promote or advertise the following without the prior written consent of Bebo:

    • Alcohol
    • Illegal drugs
    • Firearms/weapons
    • Adult content, nudity or premium rate services
    • Promotion of illegal content, goods or services
    • Tobacco and cigarettes
    • Gambling and casinos
    • Violence
    • Any competing social networking sites
    • Pop-ups
    • Films with a classification of NC-17
    • Content which is contrary to Bebo's Content Standards


  3. Right to Remove or Reject Advertisements

    Bebo may at any time in its absolute discretion remove any advertising inventory from the Platform and/or the Bebo Site. Content Partner acknowledges that this may involve removing Content Partner's Media Player from the Platform.

Bebo Open Media Platform: Bebo Content Standards Policies

Bebo's Content Standards policy is aimed at ensuring that content accessible on its site is suitable for under 18's. Content that is contrary to Bebo's content standards includes:

1. Pornographic and / or Obscene content

1.1 Content containing nudity and/or anyone (including minors [1]) engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

1.2 Content containing what may be considered obscene ( e.g., extreme or deviant sexual conduct, bestiality, bondage, S&M, excretory, vomit, blood, urination, etc).

2. Violent Content

2.2 Content containing human cruelty to animals.

2.3 Non-consensual and excessively violent street fighting or assault.

3. Defamatory Content

3.1.1 Defamatory content: content containing disparaging or negative factual statements about a person which are known to be or are very likely to be untrue and which are illegal.

4. Other Inappropriate Content

4.1 Content containing sensitive personal information or relating to commission of crimes (Bebo works closely with the police on these matters).

4.2 Content containing excessive profanity, vulgarity, hate speech, hostile comments, interpersonal disputes, threats of violence, or language that is patently vulgar, racist, sexual, obscene or disruptive.

4.3 Content that promotes or glorifies hatred, violence, racial, or religious intolerance, or content that promotes organizations with such views.

4.4 Content that is harassing or that constitutes bullying.

4.5 Content that encourages others to engage in criminal activity or to violate others' intellectual property rights.

[1] Special procedures are followed for all content containing any form of child pornography because appropriate legal action needs be taken as soon as possible
